Update: Suspect Located and Arrested in Eagan Hit and Run Investigation
Police say they have located the vehicle involved in a recent crash and taken the suspected driver into custody.
According to the Eagan Police Department, at approximately 11:25 a.m. on March 7, officers located the vehicle connected to the incident parked in the driveway of a nearby home a short distance from where the crash occurred.
Authorities say the owner of the vehicle was taken into custody and admitted to driving at the time of the incident.
March 7th: A 40-year-old woman has died after being struck in a suspected hit-and-run crash early Saturday morning in Eagan.
According to the Eagan Police Department, officers and the Minnesota State Patrol responded around 1:59 a.m. on March 7 to a report of a crash involving a vehicle and a pedestrian at the intersection of Cliff Road and Nicols Road.
When first responders arrived, they found the woman unconscious and not breathing. She was transported to a local hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.
Investigators say the driver involved left the scene before officers arrived and has not yet been located.
Authorities believe the suspect vehicle may be a white 2021–2022 Honda HR-V or Honda Civic. The vehicle is expected to have significant damage to the front passenger side.
The crash remains under active investigation.
