Fatal Crash in Ravenna Township: Motorcycle and Car Collide Head-On

RAVENNA TOWNSHIP, MN: A head-on collision between a motorcycle and a passenger car claimed the life of one person Thursday afternoon in Dakota County.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, the crash happened at 4:23 p.m. on September 18, 2025, at the intersection of Highway 316 and Red Wing Boulevard in Ravenna Township. Investigators say a 2026 Yamaha TW200 motorcycle, driven by a 45-year-old woman from Cottage Grove, was traveling northbound on Highway 316 when it crossed into the southbound lanes just north of a curve.

The motorcycle collided head-on with a 2009 Toyota Camry traveling southbound. The Camry was driven by a 30-year-old woman from Hastings, who was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash. Troopers reported that her airbags deployed and she was not injured. Alcohol was not believed to be a factor.

The rider of the Yamaha motorcycle died at the scene. Her name and additional details are being withheld pending family notification and are expected to be released by the State Patrol later today.

The road conditions at the time of the crash were reported as dry.

The Minnesota State Patrol was assisted at the scene by the Dakota County Sheriff’s Office and Hastings Fire Department.
