Four Hospitalized After Crash Involving Food Truck in Lakeville
LAKEVILLE, MINNESOTA—A crash involving a food truck and a sedan sent four people to the hospital Friday afternoon, May 23, 2025, in Lakeville, including a seven-month-old girl who sustained more serious injuries.
The collision occurred at approximately 3:50 p.m. on May 23 at the intersection of Kenwood Trail and Ipava Avenue, according to the Lakeville Police Department. Authorities say the crash involved a 2015 Chevrolet Malibu and a 1991 Chevrolet P30 van, which was reportedly being used as a food truck. Each vehicle had two occupants at the time of the crash.
Preliminary reports indicate that the Chevrolet P30 was traveling east on Kenwood Trail and entered the intersection on a yellow light. At the same time, the Chevrolet Malibu was heading west on Kenwood Trail and attempted a left turn to go southbound on Ipava Avenue, also during the yellow light. The Malibu turned in front of the oncoming food truck, resulting in a T-bone-style collision.
All four individuals involved were transported to area hospitals. Three sustained suspected minor injuries. The fourth, a seven-month-old passenger in the Malibu, suffered more extensive injuries despite being properly secured in a rear-facing child seat, authorities said.
Officials have not released the names of those involved. Further updates will be provided if more information becomes available.
