Woman Critically Injured in Fridley Shooting Saturday Night

FRIDLEY MN: A woman was critically injured in a shooting Saturday night in Fridley while driving near Interstate 694 and University Avenue Northeast, according to the Anoka County Sheriff's Office.
Authorities said the incident was reported at approximately 9:03 p.m. on May 9. Responding agencies included Fridley Public Safety, Columbia Heights Police Department, Minnesota State Patrol, and Allina EMS.
According to the sheriff’s office, indications show an adult female driving an SUV was shot by an individual in another vehicle while traveling northbound on University Avenue NE. The SUV then left the roadway before coming to a stop near the Interstate 694 ramp.
The woman was transported to a local hospital in critical but stable condition, according to authorities. A juvenile female who was also inside the SUV was not injured.
No arrests had been announced as of Sunday, and investigators are asking anyone with information about the shooting to contact Anoka County Non-Emergency Dispatch at 763-427-1212.
The incident remains under investigation by the Fridley Police Department, Minnesota State Patrol, and the Anoka County Sheriff's Office. Authorities said no additional information is being released at this time.
