APPLE VALLEY: The Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) is continuing reconstruction work on Highway 77 (Cedar Avenue), with several road and ramp closures affecting drivers in and around Apple Valley through August.

Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead, expect delays, and allow extra travel time while construction continues.

Current closures, expected to remain in place through late August, include the southbound Highway 77 ramps to and from McAndrews Road. In addition, the trail along westbound McAndrews Road between Pennock Avenue and Galaxie Avenue is closed, with a signed detour available for pedestrians and cyclists.

Several additional closures are scheduled in the coming weeks:

  • July 31 through Aug. 3: Southbound Interstate 35E ramps to and from Highway 77 will be closed.

  • Beginning Aug. 3: The Palomino Drive ramp to northbound Highway 77 will close.

  • Beginning Aug. 10: The Cliff Road ramp to northbound Highway 77 will close.

  • Beginning Aug. 17: The northbound Highway 77 exit ramp to Diffley Road will close.

MnDOT said access to local businesses and residences will be maintained throughout construction.

Drivers are encouraged to monitor traffic conditions, follow posted detours, and use caution when traveling through the work zone.
