LAKEVILLE, MINNESOTA - Just after 11 PM Sunday night, Limitless Media received a tip about a large police presence in the area of 160th and Cedar Avenue on the Lakeville-Apple Valley border. According to Lakeville police, officers responded to a theft-in-progress at a Speedway gas station late Sunday night, resulting in the arrest of a juvenile suspect.

According to the Lakeville Police Department Chief, officers were dispatched on Sunday evening, January 11, 2026, to the Speedway in the 16000 block of Cedar Avenue after a theft in progress was reported. Police said the juvenile suspect became uncooperative and aggressive with the initial responding officers. Due to the suspect’s behavior, additional law enforcement resources were requested and responded to the scene, resulting in a noticeable police presence in the area.

According to officials, officers were ultimately able to take the juvenile into custody without further incident. The suspect was then transported to the Dakota County Juvenile Services Center, where they are being held pending multiple charges related to the incident. Because the suspect is a juvenile, police did not release identifying information.

We can confirm Lakeville Police and Allina Health medics appear to have responded to the incident. By around 11:45 PM, medical and police units began to leave the scene. Lakeville police have not indicated whether any injuries were reported during the incident. The case remains under investigation.
