Semi and Pickup Collide at Highway 52 and Pine Bend Trail; Driver Arrested for Suspected DWI

ROSEMOUNT, MINNESOTA – A two-vehicle crash involving a semi-truck and a pickup injured one driver and led to a suspected DWI arrest Sunday night in Rosemount, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.
State Patrol officials say troopers were dispatched at 9:17 p.m. on Sunday, January 11, 2026, to the area of Highway 52 and Pine Bend Trail following reports of a collision. Investigators determined that a semi-truck and trailer was crossing from Pine Bend Trail onto southbound Highway 52 when it was struck by a northbound Chevrolet Colorado. The impact caused damage to both vehicles, prompting an emergency response.
The driver of the Chevrolet, Troy Alan Reinke, 48, of Red Wing, suffered non-life-threatening injuries in the crash. No other injuries were reported.
Troopers report they have arrested Reinke on suspicion of driving while impaired (DWI). However, due to the injuries he sustained, he was not booked into jail at the time of the incident, authorities said.
The crash investigation remains open, and no additional details have been released regarding potential charges or contributing factors. The Minnesota State Patrol is continuing to review the circumstances surrounding the collision.
