Large Party Broken Up by Police in Downtown Saint Paul; Five Arrested After Fights Break Out
SAINT PAUL, MINNESOTA—A large late-night party in downtown Saint Paul escalated into chaos on Thursday, July 17, 2025, prompting a significant police response and resulting in five arrests, according to the Saint Paul Police Department.
The incident unfolded just after 11:00 p.m. near the 300 block of Cedar Street, where officers encountered a crowd of approximately 200 people gathered for an unsanctioned party. As officers moved in to disperse the crowd, tensions rose and multiple fights broke out. Authorities report that several individuals engaged in physical altercations with officers while police worked to restore order. Despite the confrontations, no officers were injured.
