Woman, juvenile male killed in Anoka County shooting; suspect in custody

ANOKA COUNTY: Two people are dead following an early morning shooting in Anoka County.

According to the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office, multiple law enforcement agencies responded at approximately 12:52 a.m. Wednesday to a residence near the 9300 block of Ryan Place in Lexington on a report of a shooting.

Upon arrival, authorities located a deceased adult female and a gravely injured juvenile male inside the home. The juvenile male was transported to a local hospital, where he was later declared deceased.

A K-9-assisted search of the area led to the location of an adult male suspect, who was apprehended and taken into custody. He was transported to a hospital for treatment.

Officials say the incident does not appear to be random and there is no known threat to the public.

The identities of those involved will be released following official identification and notification of next of kin.

The investigation remains ongoing by the Centennial Lakes Police Department, Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office, and the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office. No further information is being released at this time.
