Major Meth Bust in Inver Grove Heights Leads to Arrest

INVER GROVE HEIGHTS MN — A 62-year-old Inver Grove Heights man is facing felony charges after authorities say investigators seized nearly 11 pounds of methamphetamine and two firearms during a narcotics search.
According to the Washington County Drug Task Force, Danny Gene Zaccardi has been charged with first-degree sale of a controlled substance and first-degree possession of a controlled substance.
The charges stem from an ongoing investigation into large-scale methamphetamine distribution in the area. On Feb. 3, 2026, task force agents executed a search warrant at a residence in Inver Grove Heights. Three individuals were inside the home at the time, including Zaccardi.
During the search, agents located suspected methamphetamine packaged in numerous baggies throughout a downstairs bedroom. Investigators reported finding the drugs inside a closet, under a bed and on the floor. The suspected narcotics weighed approximately 9.89 pounds and field-tested positive for methamphetamine.
Agents also recovered an additional 14 ounces of suspected methamphetamine from a bag hidden behind a basement couch. Inside that same bag, investigators located two handguns: a SIG Sauer P365 9mm and a SIG Sauer P232 .380 Kurz.
In total, authorities say approximately 10.77 pounds of suspected methamphetamine were seized.
Officials say the seizure underscores the Drug Task Force’s continued efforts to disrupt the flow of dangerous narcotics into local communities.
