Man Charged After Alleged Nonconsensual Sexual Contact Incident at Maplewood Mall JC Penney

MAPLEWOOD MN: A man has been charged in Ramsey County after an alleged nonconsensual sexual contact incident at the JC Penney store at Maplewood Mall.

According to the criminal complaint, Raquan Cortez Patterson is charged with one count of fifth-degree criminal sexual conduct involving nonconsensual sexual contact.

The charge was filed under Minnesota Statute 609.3451.1a(1). The gross misdemeanor offense carries a maximum penalty of 364 days in jail, a $3,000 fine, or both.

The complaint alleges the incident occurred on or about May 5, 2026, in Maplewood at the JC Penney located at Maplewood Mall.

Patterson is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
