Man Charged With Felony Assault After Alleged Knife Attack in Minneapolis (Copy)

MINNEAPOLIS: Minneapolis police are investigating a fatal shooting that left a man in his 30s dead Friday night.

According to the Minneapolis Police Department, Fifth Precinct officers responded to the 2000 block of 3rd Avenue South at approximately 10:30 p.m. on Aug. 7 after receiving reports of gunfire. Additional callers reported that someone had been shot.

Officers located a man in his 30s inside a vehicle suffering from life-threatening gunshot wounds. Police said officers immediately began providing lifesaving care.

Despite efforts by officers and emergency medical personnel, the man died at the scene.

Police secured the area and canvassed the neighborhood while MPD forensic scientists processed the scene and collected evidence.

Homicide investigators are working to determine the sequence of events that led to the shooting. No arrests have been reported.

The incident is being investigated under MPD case number 26-223793.
