Masked Gunman Reportedly Abducts Woman in Roseville, Holds Her Captive for Hours

ROSEVILLE MN - Roseville police are investigating after a woman reported being approached by a masked, armed man near County Road C and East Snelling Service Drive before being held captive for several hours and later released in St. Paul.
According to the Roseville Police Department, the incident began at approximately 5 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 23, when the adult woman was leaving a business near the intersection of County Road C and East Snelling Service Drive.
Police say an unknown masked man armed with a firearm approached the woman and held her captive for several hours. She was eventually released on the east side of St. Paul and was treated at a local hospital.
Investigators are asking anyone who was in the area of County Road C and East Snelling Service Drive between 3 p.m. and 10 p.m. Wednesday and noticed anything unusual or suspicious to contact police.
Residents, businesses and motorists in the area are also being asked to review surveillance cameras, doorbell cameras and dash-camera footage from that timeframe for anything that could assist investigators.

Roseville police are working with the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension and other law enforcement partners on the investigation. Police said additional investigative and patrol resources have been assigned to the case and surrounding area.
Investigators said they are pursuing available leads and reviewing evidence and video in an effort to identify the person responsible.
The investigation remains active, and police said additional information will be released when appropriate.
