Mendota Heights Man Charged With Felony Dissemination of Pornographic Work Involving Minors

MENDOTA HEIGHTS MN: A Mendota Heights man is facing a felony charge in Dakota County after prosecutors allege he disseminated pornographic material involving minors.
According to a criminal complaint filed in Dakota County District Court, Alex John Vanderheyden, 19, has been charged with one count of dissemination of pornographic work involving minors.
The complaint alleges that on or about Dec. 24, 2024, Vanderheyden disseminated pornographic work to an adult or a minor while knowing, or having reason to know, the content and character of the material.
The charge was filed under Minnesota Statute 617.247, subdivision 3(a), and carries a maximum penalty of up to seven years in prison and a fine ranging from $3,000 to $10,000.
The allegations contained in the criminal complaint are accusations, and Vanderheyden is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
