Hennepin County Man On Probation Charged with First-Degree Criminal Sexual Conduct

MINNEAPOLIS: A 42-year-old man convicted last year of second-degree criminal sexual conduct and currently held on a probation violation faces new felony charges for allegedly committing multiple acts of sexual abuse against a minor.
Prosecutors in Hennepin County charged Anthony A. Scott with one felony count of Criminal Sexual Conduct in the First Degree under Minnesota Statute § 609.342, subdivision 1a(h)(iii). Scott was previously convicted in Case File No. 27-CR-24-26383 for an offense involving sexual contact with a victim under 16 years of age on June 5, 2025, and was actively on probation when the new offenses allegedly occurred.
According to charging documents, the new allegations took place between May 1, 2026, and July 31, 2026, at a location within Hennepin County. Investigators allege that Scott engaged in multiple acts of sexual penetration over an extended period with a victim who was under the age of 16 at the time. The complaint establishes a "significant relationship" standard under state law, identifying Scott as the victim’s uncle.
Scott remains held in custody on a probation violation related to his 2025 case while facing the new charge.
Under Minnesota law, a conviction for first-degree criminal sexual conduct carries a maximum penalty of up to 30 years in prison, fines ranging from $12,000 to $40,000, and a mandatory period of conditional release following imprisonment.
