Minneapolis Police Officer Fires Weapon During Reported Carjacking Incident, Suspect in Custody

MINNEAPOLIS MN - A Minneapolis police officer discharged their service weapon Thursday afternoon while responding to an incident involving a reported carjacking in south Minneapolis, according to city officials.
The incident occurred near the intersection of West 31st Street and Grand Avenue South.
In a statement released Thursday evening, the City of Minneapolis confirmed that an officer fired their weapon during the incident but said no injuries resulted from the gunfire.
Authorities also confirmed that a suspect connected to the reported carjacking was taken into custody.
City officials said there is no ongoing danger to the public.
