HENNEPIN COUNTY MN: A man is facing multiple felony drug charges in Hennepin County after authorities say officers found large amounts of methamphetamine and multiple firearms, including a sawed-off shotgun, during the execution of a search warrant in Minneapolis.

According to the criminal complaint, officers with the Bloomington Police Department executed a search warrant on Nov. 18, 2025, at a residence in the 1200 block of Oliver Avenue North in Minneapolis.

When officers entered the home, they encountered a woman and Oscar Ugalde Araiza.

During a search of the residence, officers allegedly recovered more than 221 grams of field-test positive methamphetamine from multiple locations, including jackets and a backpack, according to the complaint.

Investigators also searched a Dodge Charger driven by Araiza that was parked at the property. Inside the vehicle, officers allegedly located a sawed-off shotgun, a bolt-action rifle, another rifle in the backseat, a disassembled double-barrel shotgun, ammunition, loaded rifle magazines, and a small amount of methamphetamine.

The complaint states the woman told investigators that Araiza sold drugs from the living room of the residence and allegedly picked up one to two pounds of methamphetamine every three to four days. She also reportedly told officers the drugs had been dropped off earlier that morning.

According to the complaint, Araiza admitted during an interview that there was approximately a half pound of methamphetamine inside the residence and said he had paid $400 for it. The complaint states Araiza also told investigators he kept a shotgun for protection because people had threatened him in the past and to protect his pregnant girlfriend.

Araiza has been charged with first-degree sale of methamphetamine, first-degree possession of methamphetamine, and carrying or possessing a pistol without a permit in a public place.

The first-degree drug charges each carry a maximum penalty of up to 40 years in prison and fines ranging from $300,000 to $1 million. The complaint lists a mandatory minimum sentence of 65 months.

The case remains ongoing in Hennepin County District Court.

Defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
