DAKOTA COUNTY, MINNESOTA - An 18-year-old Henry Nathaniel Davidson is facing felony charges after allegedly leading law enforcement on a high-speed motorcycle pursuit spanning multiple counties in the Twin Cities metro area over the weekend. According to a criminal complaint filed in Dakota County, the incident occurred around 11:57 a.m. on Saturday, March 21, 2026, when a Minnesota State Patrol trooper was on patrol in the Mendota Heights area.
Speeds Exceeding 130 MPH on I-494
The complaint states the trooper observed a motorcyclist traveling approximately 120 miles per hour on I-494 westbound. After the trooper activated emergency lights and attempted a traffic stop, the rider allegedly acknowledged the trooper by raising his hand and shaking his head before accelerating further. Authorities say the motorcyclist then reached speeds exceeding 130 miles per hour, weaving through traffic as the pursuit continued.
The pursuit extended through both Dakota and Ramsey counties, with the rider continuing at high speeds, maneuvering through traffic, and passing on the shoulders.
The incident ended near Highway 96 and I-35E, where the motorcycle reportedly ran out of fuel, forcing the rider to pull over. The Davidson was then taken into custody without further incident around 12:30 PM. Multiple agencies assisted in this pursuit, including the Ramsey County Sheriff’s Department, the Mendota Heights Police, the Minnesota State Patrol, the Minnesota State Patrol Air Patrol, and White Bear Lake Police.
Statements Made to Law Enforcement
According to the complaint, Davidson made several spontaneous statements after being stopped, including concerns about not wanting to lose his driver’s license and acknowledging that fuel would become an issue during the pursuit. Following a Miranda warning, the individual admitted to fleeing from law enforcement, according to court documents.
The Davidson is facing charges for:
Fleeing a Peace Officer in a Motor Vehicle (Felony)
If convicted, the charge carries a maximum penalty of up to three years and one day in prison and/or fines between $1,500 and $5,000 under Minnesota law. A summons has been issued for Davidson to appear in court, with his first appearance set for April 28, 2026, at 9 AM.
