Man charged after police allegedly find 250 grams of meth in Mounds View residence

RAMSEY COUNTY MN: A 61-year-old man is facing a first-degree drug possession charge after investigators executing a search warrant in Mounds View allegedly recovered 250 grams of methamphetamine, according to a criminal complaint filed in Ramsey County District Court.
The complaint states that officers with the Anoka-Hennepin Drug Task Force executed a search warrant on May 12, 2026, at an apartment on Jackson Drive in Mounds View as part of an investigation into an overdose death in a neighboring jurisdiction.
According to the complaint, Harvey Mark Odenthal, 61, was inside the residence when officers carried out the warrant.
Investigators allegedly recovered a substantial amount of suspected narcotics from the apartment, including approximately 250 grams of a substance that field tested positive for methamphetamine.
The complaint states that during a post-Miranda interview, Odenthal admitted to possessing the controlled substances recovered from the residence.
Odenthal has been charged with first-degree possession of 50 grams or more of methamphetamine or cocaine. The charge carries a maximum penalty of up to 40 years in prison and a $1 million fine, according to the complaint.
The case remains pending in Ramsey County court. Criminal charges are allegations, and defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
