The event will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 17, at the station located at 15865 Pilot Knob Road. MVTA will host the event in partnership with the Apple Valley Chamber of Commerce.

Community members attending the open house will have an opportunity to tour the updated transit facility, learn about new transit services, and meet with MVTA staff. Coffee and light refreshments will be provided.

Station Receives Major Upgrades

The reopening marks the completion of a series of interior and exterior improvements designed to modernize the station and better serve the rapidly growing area of Apple Valley.

According to MVTA, upgrades include:

  • Electric vehicle charging infrastructure

  • New bicycle lockers

  • Updated technology systems

  • Real-time transit information signage

  • Safety enhancements throughout the facility

  • Interior and exterior building improvements

The enhancements are intended to improve the customer experience while supporting a variety of transportation options, including public transit, bicycling, and electric vehicle use.

New Bus Service Begins June 1

The station officially returned to service on June 1 with the addition of two MVTA routes:

Route 420

  • An east-west local route connecting Apple Valley Transit Station and Dakota County Technical College

  • Provides local transit access throughout the area

Route 477

  • An express service operating between Apple Valley and downtown Minneapolis

  • Designed to provide commuters with a direct connection to the Twin Cities’ core

MVTA representatives will be available during the open house to discuss both routes, answer questions about schedules and service options, and provide information about the station improvements.

MVTA encourages residents, commuters, business leaders, and community members to stop by and learn more about the upgraded facility and available transit services.
