69-Year-Old Man Found Shot Dead Inside North Minneapolis Residence

MINNEAPOLIS MN: A 69-year-old man was found dead inside a north Minneapolis residence Wednesday night after what police say was an apparent fatal shooting.
According to the Minneapolis Police Department, officers from the Fourth Precinct were dispatched at approximately 8:48 p.m. on April 29, 2026, to a report of a shooting in the 4800 block of Bryant Avenue North.
When officers arrived, they located the man inside a home suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police secured the area and began canvassing for information. Homicide investigators later responded and are working to determine the sequence of events leading up to the shooting. Authorities said the incident does not appear to be random.
Crime scene personnel processed the residence and collected evidence.
“This is a tragic loss of life,” Chief Brian O’Hara said in a statement. “Our thoughts are with the victim’s family and loved ones. We need anyone who may have information about what happened to come forward.”
The case remains under active investigation. No arrests have been announced.
