SAINT PAUL: A man was killed and two other people were injured in an early morning shooting Saturday in Saint Paul, according to police.

Shortly before 4:30 a.m., Saint Paul Police officers responded to the area of Edmund Avenue West and North Kent Street following reports of an assault and shots fired.

When officers arrived, they encountered an active scene with a large gathering of people. Police located an adult man suffering from life-threatening gunshot wounds while lying in the street and immediately began life-saving measures.

The victim was transported to Regions Hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

As officers canvassed the area, they discovered a home in the 500 block of North Kent Street had been struck by gunfire. Investigators also learned that two additional victims had transported themselves to Regions Hospital before officers located them.

According to police, the two victims—an adult man and an adult woman—both suffered non-life-threatening gunshot wounds.

Saint Paul Police homicide investigators are working to determine what led up to the shooting. No arrests have been announced.

The Ramsey County Medical Examiner's Office will conduct an autopsy to positively identify the deceased victim and determine the official cause and manner of death.

Police said additional information will be released as it becomes available.

The fatal shooting marks the eighth homicide investigated in Saint Paul in 2026.
