One Person Found Dead After Vehicle Fire at Forest Lake Home

FOREST LAKE MN: A person was found dead Sunday afternoon after firefighters extinguished a vehicle fire at a residence in Forest Lake, according to the Forest Lake Fire Department.

The fire was reported at approximately 11:38 p.m. on June 27, when Forest Lake firefighters were dispatched to the 100 block of 5th Street NW for a vehicle fire.

Upon arrival, fire crews found a fully involved vehicle burning in the driveway of a residence. While extinguishing the fire, firefighters discovered one occupant inside the vehicle.

The fire was quickly extinguished, and the incident remains under investigation by the Minnesota State Fire Marshal's Office. The identity of the deceased has not been released pending notification of family members.

The Ramsey County Medical Examiner's Office will determine the cause and manner of death, while the cause of the fire also remains under investigation.

The Forest Lake Fire Department said assistance at the scene was provided by the Hugo Fire Department, Wyoming Fire Department, and the Forest Lake Police Department.

No additional information has been released.

The Forest Lake Fire Department extended its condolences to the family and friends affected by the incident.
