One Found Dead, One Hospitalized Following St. Louis Park House Fire Sunday Morning

ST. LOUIS PARK MN — One person was killed and another hospitalized following an early morning house fire Sunday in St. Louis Park.
Fire crews were dispatched just after 7 a.m. on Feb. 8 to a report of smoke in the 3000 block of Edgewood Avenue South. Upon arrival, firefighters found an active house fire, according to the St. Louis Park Fire Department.
One adult was transported to the hospital with smoke inhalation and heat-related injuries. A second adult was found deceased inside the home. The Hennepin County Medical Examiner will determine the cause and manner of death.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation but is not believed to be suspicious at this time. Officials said the investigation is active and ongoing.
The St. Louis Park Fire Department is leading the investigation in partnership with the Hennepin County Fire Investigation Team and the Minnesota State Fire Marshal.
Additional agencies that responded to the scene included the St. Louis Park Police Department, Hennepin County Crime Lab, and fire departments from Bloomington, Eden Prairie, Edina, Excelsior, Golden Valley, Hopkins, Minnetonka, Plymouth and Richfield.
