BURNSVILLE, MINNESOTA - The City of Burnsville will temporarily close Paha Sapa Park during the daytime hours, starting Wednesday, July 17, 2025, to facilitate significant improvements as part of a larger park upgrade project.
Crews have already completed tree work in the area, and paving is now underway. The current phase of construction is focused on enhancing erosion control and stormwater management. Upgrades also include resurfacing the basketball court, paved trail/path, and parking lot. As part of the improvements, the park’s tennis court will be removed due to ongoing access challenges.
The next stage of work is expected to begin in late summer or early fall. It will feature a full playground replacement, bringing updated equipment and a refreshed recreational space for families and children.
During construction, the park will be closed during daytime hours, 8 am to 5 pm, to ensure public safety and allow crews to complete work efficiently. City officials encourage residents to explore nearby parks and trails during the closure.
The City of Burnsville appreciates the community’s patience and looks forward to welcoming visitors back to an improved and revitalized Paha Sapa Park later this year. You can learn more about the 2025 City of Burnville Park projects here: Parks Projects and Renovations.
