ROSEMOUNT MN: A man from Farmington is facing felony charges after allegedly leading police on a short pursuit and later being found in possession of cocaine in Rosemount.
According to a criminal complaint, the incident occurred on March 23, 2026, at approximately 4:06 p.m., when an officer observed a vehicle committing multiple traffic violations. The officer activated emergency lights and sirens, but the driver continued for about 1.5 miles before attempting a U-turn at an intersection.
Police were able to block the vehicle, and the driver—identified as Christopher Mickens Sr.—was taken into custody.
Authorities say a search incident to arrest revealed a baggie containing a white powdery substance in Mickens’ pants pocket. The substance later tested positive for cocaine and weighed approximately 0.14 grams.
During the arrest, Mickens reportedly showed signs consistent with a drug overdose, including sweating and stating he felt like he might faint. Officers administered Narcan and requested medical assistance. He was transported to a hospital for treatment before later being booked into jail.
The complaint also notes that Mickens has a prior conviction for fifth-degree drug possession.
He is now charged with fleeing a peace officer in a motor vehicle and fifth-degree controlled substance possession, both felony offenses.
The case remains pending, and Mickens is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
