School Bus Crashes Into Building on Hamline University Campus; Several Children Evaluated for Injuries

SAINT PAUL MN: Several children and a school bus driver were injured after a school bus crashed into a building on the campus of Hamline University Tuesday afternoon, according to the Saint Paul Police Department.
Police said officers were dispatched at approximately 2:05 p.m. to the area of Hewitt Avenue and Snelling Avenue North after receiving reports that a school bus had struck a building on campus.
Authorities reported that approximately a dozen children were aboard the bus at the time of the crash. Three children were transported to Children's Minnesota for evaluation of minor injuries.
The bus driver also sustained minor injuries and was transported to Regions Hospital for treatment.
Police said no other vehicles were involved in the incident.
Following the crash, officers searched the impacted building to ensure that no occupants inside had been injured. No additional injuries were reported.
Several streets surrounding the scene were temporarily closed while investigators examined the crash site and worked to determine what caused the bus to leave the roadway and strike the building.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
