Richfield Man Charged with Felony Criminal Sexual Conduct in Scott County

SHAKOPEE: Abdirahman Mohamed Badal, a 22-year-old Richfield resident, has been charged with felony third-degree criminal sexual conduct in Scott County following an alleged incident in Shakopee.

According to a criminal complaint filed by the Scott County Attorney’s Office, Badal (DOB: 08/22/2003) engaged in sexual penetration with a victim between 14 and 15 years of age while being more than 24 months older than the victim, pursuant to Minnesota Statute § 609.344, subd. 1a(b).

The charge stems from an investigation by local law enforcement into an incident reported on or about August 18, 2026, within the city limits of Shakopee. The felony offense carries a statutory maximum penalty of up to 15 years in prison, a fine of up to $30,000, or both.

A criminal complaint contains allegations based on probable cause determined by law enforcement and prosecutors. All defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
