Death Under Investigation After Person Found Near Vendor Booth at Steele County Fair
OWATONNA, MINNESOTA: Authorities are investigating after a person was found dead near a vendor booth at the Steele County Fair on Wednesday.
According to the Steele County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the Four Seasons area of the fairgrounds on August 19 after a deceased individual was located near a vendor booth.
The Sheriff’s Office said deputies are working to determine the circumstances surrounding the death. The Steele County Coroner’s Office is assisting with the investigation.
Authorities have not released the identity of the deceased, pending notification of next of kin.
No additional details about what may have led to the person’s death were immediately released.
The Sheriff’s Office said additional information will be provided when it becomes available and when its release will not interfere with the ongoing investigation.
