Single-Vehicle Rollover Involving Horse Trailer Causes Morning Delays on I-35W in Burnsville
BURNSVILLE, MINNESOTA – At approximately 6:06 a.m. on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, Minnesota State Troopers, Burnsville Police, and Burnsville Fire responded to a single-vehicle rollover crash in the area of northbound I-35W between County Road 42 and McAndrews in Burnsville.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, a truck pulling a horse trailer struck a concrete barrier, causing both the truck and trailer to roll over and block a lane of traffic. The trailer contained one horse at the time of the crash.
The incident prompted the temporary closure of all northbound lanes of I-35W for roughly an hour and a half while crews worked to right the overturned truck and trailer. The closure caused significant traffic delays throughout the morning commute, with congestion spilling onto surrounding roads.
Authorities confirmed that the vehicle’s occupants were not injured. The horse sustained only minor injuries.
Burnsville Police Department, Burnsville Fire Department, and the Minnesota State Patrol all responded to the scene.
The roadway was fully reopened around 7:40 a.m. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
