St Louis County: The St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office says nearly 20 pounds of methamphetamine, more than a pound of cocaine and over $21,000 in cash were seized during a drug investigation on the Iron Range that led to multiple arrests over the weekend.
According to the sheriff’s office, members of the St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office and the Lake Superior Violent Offender Task Force (LSVOTF) executed a series of search warrants on May 16 and May 17, 2026, in rural St. Louis County, the City of Virginia and the City of Gilbert.
Several individuals were taken into custody during the searches and booked into the St. Louis County Jail in Virginia on various first-degree controlled substance crime allegations, according to the release.
Authorities said the warrants were the result of a long-term narcotics investigation conducted by members of the LSVOTF on the Iron Range.
Investigators reported seizing approximately 19.5 pounds of methamphetamine, 1.2 pounds of cocaine and $21,761 in cash during the operation.
The defendants are expected to appear in St. Louis County District Court in Virginia within the coming days.
The sheriff’s office said the LSVOTF was assisted by the Virginia Police Department and Gilbert Police Department during the investigation.
