Woman Charged With 5th-Degree Criminal Sexual Conduct After Incident at Knollwood Mall in St. Louis Park

ST. LOUIS PARK MN: A woman is facing a fifth-degree criminal sexual conduct charge following an incident during a shoplifting investigation in St. Louis Park, according to a criminal complaint filed in Hennepin County.

According to the complaint, DANIELLE KAY MCFARLAND has been charged with fifth-degree criminal sexual conduct – nonconsensual sexual contact under Minnesota Statute 609.3451.1a(1), stemming from an incident on or about April 24, 2026.

The complaint states that officers with the St. Louis Park Police Department were called to a shoplifting report at Knollwood Mall. During the investigation, officers conducted a traffic stop related to the report. McFarland was identified as an occupant of the vehicle, along with an adult female listed as the victim.

According to the complaint, while the victim was removing property from the vehicle, McFarland allegedly made nonconsensual contact with the victim in an intimate area. The complaint indicates the encounter was captured on an officer’s body-worn camera.

Under Minnesota law, a conviction for fifth-degree criminal sexual conduct carries a maximum penalty of up to 364 days in jail and/or a $3,000 fine.

McFarland is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
