Published: June 9th, 2026

SAINT PAUL MN: A 40-year-old St. Paul man is facing a felony charge after Ramsey County prosecutors alleged he used excessive force or cruel discipline against a child.

According to a criminal complaint filed in Ramsey County District Court, Anthony Bryan Comodore, of St. Paul, has been charged with one count of malicious punishment of a child – prior listed offense – less than substantial bodily harm, a felony offense.

Prosecutors allege that on or about June 8, 2026, Comodore, while acting as a parent, legal guardian, or caretaker, committed an intentional act or series of intentional acts that constituted unreasonable force or cruel discipline toward a child. The complaint alleges the punishment was excessive under the circumstances and resulted in less than substantial bodily harm.

Court documents further allege the offense occurred within five years of Comodore's discharge from a sentence or disposition related to a previous domestic assault conviction, which elevated the alleged offense to a felony-level charge.

The charge carries a maximum penalty of five years in prison, a $10,000 fine, or both if convicted.

All defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.

All charges are merely accusations, and defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
