Man Accused of Having Glock Conversion Devices Shipped, Posting Modified Firearms on Social Media

SAINT PAUL: An 18-year-old is facing multiple felony charges in Ramsey County after authorities allege he arranged for Glock machine gun conversion devices to be shipped to a Roseville residence, posted firearms equipped with the devices on social media, and investigators later recovered five trigger activators during a search warrant.
According to a criminal complaint, Abdifathi Mohamed Waadi has been charged with five felony counts of possessing a machine gun, trigger activator, or machine gun conversion kit under Minnesota law. Each count carries a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison, a $35,000 fine, or both.
According to the probable cause statement, U.S. Customs and Border Protection seized a package in Chicago on July 16 that had been shipped from Alibaba and was addressed to another individual at a Roseville residence. Authorities reported the parcel contained three Glock trigger activators, which are devices capable of converting a semi-automatic handgun into a fully automatic firearm.
Investigators allege the phone number used to purchase the package belonged to Waadi. The complaint further states law enforcement had information indicating Waadi had previously ordered trigger activators to the same address under his own name as recently as May 2026 using the same phone number.
Authorities also reviewed Waadi's social media accounts and alleged they found posts showing him in possession of firearms equipped with trigger activators.
On July 29, investigators conducted a controlled delivery of the intercepted package. According to the complaint, only one of the three trigger activators remained inside the parcel because the other two had been removed by law enforcement before delivery. An undercover officer posing as a delivery driver left the package at the residence, where a woman allegedly brought it inside.
Officers then executed a search warrant at the home. Waadi was not present when officers entered, according to the complaint.
During the search, investigators reported finding the delivered package inside a kitchen cabinet. Officers also allege they recovered five trigger activators from Waadi's bedroom, along with packaging found beneath his bed that matched the parcel delivered that day. Investigators believe the packaging may have been connected to a previous shipment received in May 2026.
According to the complaint, Waadi returned to the residence while officers were still executing the search warrant and was taken into custody.
The allegations contained in the criminal complaint have not been proven in court. Waadi is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
