FARMINGTON: Police have confirmed that a body recovered from the Mississippi River over the weekend is that of a Farmington woman who had been reported missing earlier this year.

According to the Farmington Police Department, the Ramsey County Water Patrol recovered the body on Saturday, March 14. The Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office has since identified the deceased as Amy Plotts.

The case remains under investigation by the Ramsey County Sheriff’s Office. Officials say there is no evidence to suggest any ongoing danger to the public. Plotts was reported missing in January.

“Our thoughts are with Amy’s family, friends, and all those affected by this loss,” the department said in a statement. “We extend our deepest condolences during this incredibly difficult time.”

Farmington Police also thanked partner agencies and community members who assisted in the search efforts over the past several weeks.

Officials are asking for privacy for Plotts’ family as they grieve.
