WEST SAINT PAUL MN: The West St. Paul Police Department is investigating after a body was discovered in a wooded area near the 199 block of Wentworth Avenue East.

According to police, officers responded to a report of a body being found in the wooded area. The deceased is believed to be an adult male.

Investigators say the body was found in a state of advanced decomposition, indicating the individual had been deceased for an extended period of time. At this stage of the investigation, there are no obvious signs of trauma.

The investigation is being conducted in partnership with the Hennepin County Medical Examiner's Office, which will determine the cause and manner of death and confirm the individual's identity.

Police said additional information will be released as it becomes available.
