WEST ST PAUL & SAINT PAUL, MINNESOTA - Law enforcement agencies from St. Paul and West St. Paul conducted a coordinated search Thursday evening after an armed domestic incident in St. Paul led authorities to believe the suspect had fled to an apartment complex in West St. Paul.
According to information released by the Saint Paul Police Department, officers were called around 5:45 p.m. on December 25, 2025, to a reported domestic incident in the 100 block of Maryland Avenue in St. Paul. Police say an adult female reported that her ex-boyfriend threatened her with a firearm and then took her vehicle. Authorities confirmed the woman was not injured during the incident.
Investigators later obtained information indicating the suspect, an adult male, may have been inside an apartment building in the 1500 block of Bellows Street in West St. Paul. As a result, the West St. Paul Police Department began assisting the St. Paul Police Department with the search. The West St. Paul Police Department issued a public notice on Facebook just before 9 PM asking residents to stay away from the area while officers worked to apprehend the suspect.
Due to the reported presence of a firearm and the seriousness of the alleged threats, a search warrant was obtained and signed by a judge authorizing officers to search the apartment and arrest the suspect. According to the St Paul Police Department, the warrant was executed by the Dakota County SWAT, who searched the apartment believed to be associated with the suspect. However, authorities say the suspect was not located inside the residence.
Police confirmed that no arrest was made, and the suspect was not taken into custody following the execution of the search warrant.
As of the latest update, law enforcement agencies have not released a suspect description or identified the individual involved. No additional injuries were reported, and no further information was immediately available.
Authorities say the investigation remains ongoing, and updates will be provided if new information becomes available.
