LAKEVILLE, MINNESOTA - Police were called to a home in the 10200 block of 175th Street West after receiving a report that someone unauthorized to be in the residence was present, according to law enforcement and confirmed by Limitless Media.

Shortly before 5:00 p.m. on Friday, officers were dispatched to the home after receiving a report that an unauthorized person was inside. Officers contacted the homeowner, who was out of town, and the homeowner confirmed that no one had permission to be inside the home.

Based on information gathered at the scene and prior history, officers believed they knew the individual's identity inside the residence. Police also determined that no other people were thought to be inside the home. Given the individual’s prior interactions with law enforcement, officers surrounded the residence to prevent any potential escape and then carefully cleared the home. After a methodical search, officers located a male hiding inside the residence. He was taken into custody at approximately 6:35 p.m. without further incident.

Police said the man has a prior association with the home but does not live there.

Following the arrest, the suspect was transported to the Dakota County Jail, where he was booked and held on charges of burglary and violation of a domestic abuse no-contact order.

Beginning around 6:30 p.m., Limitless Media received several tips from residents reporting a large police presence on 175th Street West between Java Court North and Jasmine Avenue. According to information shared with Limitless Media, family members later reported that the incident involved a relative who is experiencing mental health issues and allegedly broke into the family home.

No injuries were reported during the incident, and police indicated the arrest was made peacefully. This case remains under investigation, and additional details may be released as the court proceedings progress.
