WASHINGTON COUNTY MN - A 23-year-old woman has been charged with felony fleeing a peace officer after allegedly refusing to stop for police in Washington County on Sunday, October 11th, 2026, telling an officer she was running late for work before continuing to drive away.

According to a criminal complaint filed in Washington County District Court, Bayley Rae Glasspoole was driving westbound on Highway 36 in Oak Park Heights when an officer observed her vehicle traveling above the posted 55 mph speed limit. Radar allegedly recorded the vehicle traveling 73 mph.

The officer activated his emergency lights to initiate a traffic stop. According to the complaint, Glasspoole briefly applied her brakes but continued driving westbound before turning north onto Washington Avenue.

After the officer activated his siren, Glasspoole allegedly stopped briefly, rolled down her window, and told the officer she was going to be late for work.

The officer instructed Glasspoole to pull into a nearby parking lot. However, prosecutors allege she ignored the instructions and drove past both entrances while the officer's emergency lights and siren remained activated.

A Washington County sheriff's deputy subsequently responded and pursued the vehicle, which eventually pulled into another parking lot, where Glasspoole was taken into custody.

Glasspoole faces one felony count of fleeing a peace officer in a motor vehicle under Minnesota Statute 609.487.3. The charge carries a maximum potential sentence of three years and one day in prison and a $5,000 fine.

The allegations remain unproven, and Glasspoole is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
