Published: February 2nd , 2026

ZIMMERMAN, Minn. — The Sherburne County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help as investigators continue working a child abduction case in Zimmerman.

Authorities say Joseph Andrew Bragg, 28, has been charged with kidnapping and sexual assault in connection with a Jan. 21 incident involving a 7-year-old child. The sheriff’s office confirmed the child was ultimately recovered alive.

Investigators determined Bragg had communicated with parents through social media, offering nanny or daycare services. As part of the ongoing investigation, authorities are now seeking information from anyone who may have employed or interacted with Bragg as a nanny or childcare provider.

Anyone with information is asked to contact investigators through the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension tip line at (651) 793-2465.

The Sherburne County Sheriff’s Office is leading the investigation with assistance from the BCA and the FBI.
