Structure Fire Reported in Apple Valley; Crews Respond to 2nd Alarm on Heritage Way

APPLE VALLEY, MINNESOTA - Fire crews responded Sunday afternoon to a reported structure fire in a residential neighborhood in Apple Valley. According to initial reports, the incident was dispatched at approximately 1:40 p.m. on March 29, 2026, in the 13100 block of Heritage Way. Early, unconfirmed information indicates the fire may have started in the rear of the home after the homeowner allegedly burned rags, which then spread to the residence.

The first initial Apple Valley Fire Department units arrived on scene around 1:45 p.m. Within minutes, at approximately 1:46 p.m., the situation was escalated to a second alarm, prompting additional resources to respond. Mutual aid was requested from Burnsville Fire, and an all-call was issued for additional Apple Valley fire personnel.

Also responding to the scene were Apple Valley Police Department and Allina Health EMS, assisting with scene safety and medical support.

As of now, initial reports indicate no injuries and no one trapped, though officials have not yet confirmed those details. The extent of damage to the home and the official cause of the fire remain under investigation.
