Police Activity in Apple Valley Tuesday Afternoon Linked to Medical Emergency; Individual Located and Hospitalized

APPLE VALLEY, MINNESOTA - A large police presence in an Apple Valley neighborhood Tuesday afternoon was ultimately tied to a medical emergency, according to authorities.
Around 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, law enforcement activity was reported in the area of Palomino Drive and Pennock Avenue. Officers confirmed they were searching for a male in his 20s described as wearing a black sweatshirt and blue jeans. At the time, officials emphasized there was no threat to the public.
To assist in the search effort, including officers from Apple Valley Police, mutual aid was called in from neighboring departments in Burnsville and Eagan. Authorities used both drone technology and a K9 unit during the search operation.
The situation remained active for over an hour, with police canvassing the area, reportedly near the Apple Valley Estates mobile home community, until just after 5 PM.
Apple Valley officials confirmed that the individual had been located just after 5 PM and clarified that the incident was not criminal in nature but stemmed from a medical emergency. The response from multiple agencies, including the use of drones, was part of an effort to quickly locate the individual and ensure their safety.
The individual was subsequently transported to a hospital for medical care.
No Threat to the Public
Police reiterated that there was no danger to the public at any point, and the situation has since been resolved.
