Armed Home Invasion Under Investigation in Brooklyn Park; Suspect Sought

BROOKLYN PARK: Police are investigating an early morning armed home invasion in Brooklyn Park after a woman reported an intruder entered her residence and held her at gunpoint before fleeing.
According to the Brooklyn Park Police Department, officers were dispatched at approximately 5:00 a.m. on July 17 to the 7600 block of Hampshire Avenue North following a report of an armed home invasion.
Police said the reporting party told officers that an unknown man entered her home and held her at gunpoint for a brief period. The suspect fled the residence before the victim was able to call 911.
Because of the nature of the incident, police launched a significant response and conducted a large-scale search of the area.
The Crystal Police Department and Brooklyn Center Police Department assisted with the search.
Authorities said the suspect was not located, and the investigation remains active.
