Shooting at Maple Grove Benihana Under Investigation; Police Seeking Suspect

MAPLE GROVE, MINNESOTA - Maple Grove police are investigating a shooting that took place Friday afternoon outside the Benihana restaurant on Fountains Drive, according to a press release issued by Commander Jon Wetternach.
Officers were dispatched around 4:30 p.m. on November 14, 2025, to the restaurant located in the 11800 block of Fountains Drive after receiving reports of a shooting. By the time officers arrived, both the suspect and the victim had fled the area in separate vehicles. A short time later, the victim arrived at a local hospital with an unknown injury and is currently receiving medical treatment. Police have not released additional details about the victim’s condition or the nature of the injury.
Authorities say investigators are actively working to identify and locate the suspect. At this time, police are not releasing any suspect information, and no arrests have been made.
According to Maple Grove Police, the incident does not appear to be random, and there is no known immediate or ongoing threat to the public.
