ORIGINAL STORY - SHAKOPEE and MENDOTA HEIGHTS, MINNESOTA: The Shakopee Police have confirmed that a suspect in connection with a shooting in Shakopee that left a 40-year-old man critically injured was arrested late Friday night after a vehicle pursuit that ended in Mendota Heights.
Early-Morning Shooting on Grove Drive
Police were called to a weapons complaint on Grove Drive around 3:13 a.m. Saturday, November 15, 2025. When officers arrived, they found a 40-year-old male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to Hennepin County Medical Center (HCMC) with life-threatening injuries.
Authorities say the shooting does not appear to have been random, and there is no ongoing threat to the surrounding community. The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA) is assisting with the crime scene investigation.
Suspect Identified and Arrested
Shortly after 9:30 p.m. Saturday, November 15th, Richfield Police Officers located the suspect, identified as Dejon Paul Brown of Richfield. A pursuit began when Brown fled in a vehicle. The chase continued across the Twin Cities metro and ultimately entered Mendota Heights, crossing the Mendota Bridge before continuing onto I-35E.
The suspect vehicle later crashed in the area of Highway 13 and Lilydale Road. Multiple occupants fled on foot, prompting law enforcement from several jurisdictions to rapidly establish a perimeter. All individuals were quickly apprehended.
Brown was booked into the Scott County Jail. Shakopee Police report that the victim remains hospitalized at HCMC and is now expected to survive.
