CHANHASSEN: A man was found dead Saturday night after reportedly going underwater at Lake Ann Park in Chanhassen, according to the Carver County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies said they received reports at approximately 7:20 p.m. that an adult male had gone under the water and did not resurface. A large-scale water search was launched at Lake Ann Park involving the Carver County Dive Team and other emergency responders.

Just before 10 p.m., members of the Carver County Dive Team recovered the body of the deceased adult male from the lake.

The Carver County Sheriff's Office said there are no other victims associated with the incident.

The Sheriff's Office is continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident in coordination with the Midwest Medical Examiner's Office, which will determine the man's identity and cause of death.

Lake Ann Park remained closed during the search operation, and authorities asked the public to stay away from the area while emergency crews worked.

In a statement following the recovery, the City of Chanhassen said it was "deeply saddened" by the incident and thanked the Carver County Sheriff's Office, Carver County Dive Team, Chanhassen Fire Department, and other public safety partners who responded.
