Teen Fatally Shot at Brooklyn Park Park, Police Investigating Homicide

BROOKLYN PARK: A juvenile male was fatally shot Sunday night at a Brooklyn Park park, prompting a homicide investigation.
According to the Brooklyn Park Police Department, officers responded at approximately 10:46 p.m. on July 5 to a report of a shooting at Hartkopf Park, located at 7300 Florida Avenue North.
When officers arrived, they located a juvenile male suffering from a gunshot wound and immediately began rendering aid. Despite lifesaving efforts, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
The victim's identity has not yet been released.
Brooklyn Park Police investigators are actively investigating the homicide with assistance from the Hennepin County Crime Scene Investigations Unit.
Authorities have not released information about a possible suspect or what may have led to the shooting.
