Suspect Arrested in Burnsville Criminal Sexual Conduct Investigation Involving a Weapon

BURNSVILLE, MINNESOTA - A suspect is in custody following a police investigation Tuesday morning in a Burnsville neighborhood that resulted in road closures and a large law enforcement presence for several hours.

According to Burnsville police, officers responded at approximately 5:30 a.m. on June 9, 2026, to the area of Xerxes Avenue South and 135th Street West after receiving a report that led to an investigation involving alleged criminal sexual conduct and a weapon. According to Burnsville officials, officers arrested an individual on suspicion of criminal sexual conduct involving a weapon. Authorities safely secured the weapon, and investigators spent much of the morning and early afternoon processing the scene for evidence. As of 12:20 p.m., officers remained at the location conducting investigative work. The affected area reportedly reopened shortly afterward.

The incident resulted in the closure of 135th Street West between Washburn Avenue South and Xerxes Avenue South. A Burnsville Police command vehicle was also stationed near Neill Park, with activity in that area connected to the ongoing investigation.

Limitless Media was on scene Tuesday morning and observed the road closure and continued law enforcement activity. Neighbors and an officer at the scene indicated the investigation had been ongoing since at least 7 a.m., though authorities had not released additional details at that time.

Police have not identified the suspect, released information about the victim, or disclosed further details regarding the circumstances that led to the arrest.

The investigation remains active and ongoing. Authorities said no additional information is available at this time.
