Shelter-in-Place Lifted Following Domestic Assault Incident in Farmington

FARMINGTON, MINNESOTA - A shelter-in-place order was lifted Tuesday night after Farmington police responded to a domestic-related incident that resulted in one person being taken into custody.

According to neighbors in the area, the incident began around 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, in the vicinity of the 5300 block of 188th Street West, near 188th Street West and English Avenue in Farmington. As law enforcement officers worked the scene, authorities issued a shelter-in-place order around 9:30 p.m. for residents in the immediate area. The order was issued as officers responded and worked to safely resolve the situation.

At approximately 10:00 p.m., a Farmington police officer confirmed to Limitless Media News that one individual had been taken into custody. The individual is expected to face charges related to misdemeanor domestic assault.

Police indicated that officers were clearing the residence and ensuring the area was secure. The officer also stated that the shelter-in-place order would likely be lifted shortly. The shelter-in-place was officially lifted at 10:25 p.m., allowing residents to resume normal activities.

No injuries have been reported, and no additional information regarding the circumstances leading up to the incident has been released at this time.
