Fire Damages Castle Rock Township Home; Two Dogs Rescued, Two Unaccounted For

CASTLE ROCK TOWNSHIP, MINNESOTA - Firefighters responded to a structure fire at a home in Castle Rock Township Friday night, with crews working early into the morning on Saturday, working to extinguish the fire.
The fire was first reported just after 9 p.m. on Friday, August 21, in the 23000 block of Biscayne Avenue, following reports of a possible propane tank explosion and of several farm animals loose on the property. Farmington Fire and Randolph-Hampton Fire were initially toned out for the call. Law enforcement arrived on scene around 9:10 PM to confirm that a residential home was fully engulfed and that it was unknown if anyone was inside the home. This was upgraded to a second alarm around 9:11 PM, which brought additional mutual aid from Lakeville Fire and callbacks from both Farmington and Randolph-Hampton Fire.
The first fire crews arrived around 9:11 PM and confirmed that a two-story family home was fully engulfed, prompting a defensive attack. There were initial reports that a young adult might still be in the home, but it was quickly confirmed that they were not, and no one was home at the time of the fire. While no one was reported to be in the home, there were reports of four dogs there at the time the fire started.
By approximately 10:40 p.m., officials confirmed with Limitless Media News at the scene that two of the dogs had been removed from the home. Both appeared to be doing alright following the fire. Two additional dogs remained unaccounted for at that time. However, information available at the scene indicated that the two missing dogs were not believed to still be inside the burning home.
The status and whereabouts of those two dogs were not immediately confirmed.
Firefighters Remain on Scene Early Saturday Morning
Most mutual aid units were cleared the scene by around 2 AM Saturday morning, with the only people remaining on scene being the Farmington Fire inspector. The Red Cross was called to the scene to assist the family with living accommodations.
Additional information regarding the extent of the damage to the home was not immediately available. Officials have not released an official cause of the fire. Through at least 11 PM on Friday evening, we can confirm no injuries to residents or emergency personnel were reported. We have reached out to officials to confirm that the information is still accurate and to determine the cause of the fire.
